Taiwan Youth and Overseas Expatriate Bridging Program Creates Global Connections
Since its inception in 2017, the Taiwan Youth and Overseas Expatriate Bridging Program, organized by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC), has been successfully broadening the horizons of Taiwan’s youth while fostering international connections with overseas communities. This annual program continues to make a positive impact, sending outstanding Taiwanese students to various cities around the world during their summer vacations.
In a recent event hosted in Austin, a group of 16 exceptional Taiwanese students visited Austin Taiwanese Presbyterian Church/Goodnews Mandarin Academy/Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning. The program received overwhelming support, with TAP (Taiwanese American Professionals), ATA (American-Taiwanese Association), and FASCA (Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors) actively participating and contributing their expertise.
The day was packed with exciting activities, starting with engaging group discussions that encouraged the exchange of ideas and experiences among the students and community representatives. Following the discussions, a delightful lunch and social event took place. The Taiwanese student showcase performances showed the energy of the young generation and brought laughter to all faces.
The Taiwan Youth and Overseas Expatriate Bridging Program continues to be a remarkable endeavor by the OCAC, inspiring young minds and fostering a stronger sense of identity and belonging among Taiwanese students worldwide. As the program evolves, its impact on building cultural bridges and cultivating future leaders remains invaluable.
